Quantum Summer Lab: dive into the future of computing
Join us on September 4–5, 2025, at the Microsoft Innovation Hub in Brussels, Belgium, for a unique, in-person learning experience focused on practical quantum computing applications. Over two days, participants will learn the basics of quantum computing, how to develop quantum algorithms using Microsoft’s Q# programming language, and gain hands-on experience with Pasqal’s Neutral Atom platform on Microsoft Azure.

Johnny Hooyberghs is Managing Partner at Involved and has been part of De Cronos Groep since 2014. Focusing on software architecture and backend development. Additionally, Johnny is also a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Quantum, and Developer Technologies since 2020. Johnny has been passionate about software development using the .NET stack, cloud-native development using the Microsoft Azure cloud stack, and quantum computing.

Alexandre Dauphin

With 10+ years in R&D in quantum technologies, Alexandre Dauphin specializes in quantum computing, computational science, high-performance computing (HPC), and machine learning. Collaborating closely with the hardware teams, he is bridging the gap between research and industry. He and his team focus on developing algorithms for the quantum simulation of complex quantum systems such as materials or chemistry.

Dr. David Teller
Staff Software Engineer, Open-Source coordinator at Pasqal
David is passionate about open source and helping new technologies go mainstream. A longtime engineer and mentor, David’s work on Rust, Firefox, and the Matrix ecosystem combines deep technical skill with a focus on practical adoption. At Pasqal, he’s making quantum computing more accessible. For the Quantum Summer Lab in Brussels, David brings real-world experience in building innovative tech and cultivating open-source communities.

Lauri Sainiemi
Vice President – Fabrication, Microsoft Quantum
D. Sc. (Tech.) Lauri Sainiemi, VP of Fabrication at Microsoft Quantum, is a nanoengineering leader driving scalable quantum device manufacturing.
Lauri was a key contributor to HoloLens display technology development, and he now leads efforts to scale Microsoft’s topological qubit technology, turning breakthrough concepts into manufacturable reality.

Is Quantum Summer Lab for me?
Yes, if you’re curious about quantum computing and want to explore what it means in practice. Whether you’re a business leader looking for context or a developer ready to code, this lab is designed to offer value through both strategic insights and hands-on learning.
What level of quantum computing knowledge is required?
No prior knowledge of quantum computing is required. This is an introductory workshop that will guide you from theory to practice. Keep in mind that the workshop is highly technical, fast paced and you should expect topics like physics, maths and logic that will ask some effort from your part.
Are there any requirements to attend?
This is an in-person customer event in Brussels. We ask that you register using your professional email address.
How do I get to the event location?
The Quantum Summer Lab takes place at the Microsoft Innovation Hub in Brussels, Belgium. Detailed directions, parking info, and public transport options can be found in the practical info document below.
Are travel or accommodation costs covered by the organisers?
No. Attendance is free, but participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs.
When will I know if I got selected?
ue to high demand and limited capacity, all submissions will be reviewed and confirm selected participants by August 15, 2025.
What should I bring to the event?
A laptop is recommended, especially for the hands-on labs. We’ll provide software setup instructions ahead of time. Other than that, bring your curiosity and questions.
Will meals or refreshments be provided?
Yes. We’ll provide coffee, lunch, and snacks on both days.
